The town of Hinsdale in the Berkshire hills was once home to at least five textile mills, employing thousands of people over the course of the almost years they churned out wool and cotton.  Very little physical evidence remains in Hinsdale today of the large, sturdy structures that lay along the east branch of the Housatonic River.
